These are the parents of the baby yellow rat in my previous post. They were collected in Miami Co as subadults. The male is in the upper photo, female below in her nest box.
I use them in presentations, and my feeling is that if I'm telling an audience this is a Yellow ratsnake, it ought to be yellow. That's why I saved the one I selected, to see if it matures into an obviously yellow snake.
I also have some lovely classic Everglades phase rats, wild-type Okeetee corns, White Oak gray rats and some really gorgeous wild-type subocs. Among other things.
