Don i'm not sure that any paticular time in incubation would be better than another. I don't really know that it would be best but if I had to choose I would probably move them the day they are laid or try and wait intil the last third of the incubation when they have some size in the egg. Again, i'm not sure it would necessarily be better or not.
If I could, I would carry whatever you have the eggs in in your hand while your driving. It will take the stiffer jarring and shaking out of the trip for them. If you have to go very far I guess that would be hard.

Sweet looking beauty snake and clutch there by the way.
