Agreed, ultra is a form of hypo that shares the same locus as amel. So how do you explain the amel? If it is in fact an amel, then something else is lurking in those hypo everglade genes. I guess the only way to find out would be to breed the hypo everglades to a amel yellow rat. I'd be interested to see those results.
