The event that drove me to go out and catch my first snake was when someone brought a garder snake into my classroom. I have that visual in my head to this day and from that point on I was hooked. That is when I started coming home with "seaweed" in my hair and that black swamp muck from head to toe because I was swimming through the swamps trying to catch water snakes. Mom loved that!

It is very important to get the truth about snakes to kids before all the stereotypes turn them off. I go in every May and show off my stuff as well. Great job Tom!
