Time moves so fast I can feel the wind on my face; so, no, I am not in any anxiety for spring to arrive. I am getting a tad concerned about the lack of precipitation this winter, though.

A little drought history.

I live in a Ponderosa forest, so when things get dry I get anxiety about fire. last year was the heaviest snow since 1952. My place looked like this:

It just kept on well into late spring. I was like "What the devil did I wake up my snakes for?" I had brought them out of brumation in January. Well, this year I am waiting until mid February unless it gets too warm for further brumation at night. Last year all my snakes did fine, even breeding for the first time. But then they did not have to shovel snow! This dry weather has been a wonderful relief from last winter. But it does have a price, being increased fire danger.
