You said she is obese and you question if she has resorbed unfertilized eggs or even eaten deposited eggs (or slugs). Is it possible that she is not obese, but is simply eggbound and has been eggbound the time you have had her under your care? I am hesitant to present this as a possibility because the vet should have been able to determine egg-binding pretty quickly.
