Almost took a request

The baby has been sick for several days now and my sleep patterns have been disrupted with multiple trips to her room long after I put her down for the night. So when returning to bed the other night, I was really surprised not to find a cat waiting for me in bed, considering the late hour. Before crawling in bed with Big Scary Man I called out, "Could I have a cat in here to warm my feet?" No answer.



Just on the threshold of Dreamland I heard Big Scary Man's deep rumbling drawl come out of the darkness.



"Wrong set of feet."



Never did learn which cat almost answered my call.
