He appears to be ok but one of the brands that we feed him was on the list.

I understand the problem/recall was by specific lot(s). Did you run the lot number on the bottom of the can against "the list"? If you go to that brand's website it will probably tell you what "numbers" to look for on the bottom of the cans.
