moving

I may be moving towards the middle/end of july, and I have a kitty to take with me. My concern is, I'm moving from Oregon to Montana, and the route we'll be taking is through eastern oregon/washington where it'll be pretty warm. we'll have a/c but will that be enough for the lil guy? i also have a leash and harness for him for when we make pit stops..but i'm just worried about him. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.
