Kitten trying to nurse.

I have a kiten who will be four months old on the tenth of august. A few weeks ago she started to try to nurse off of my adult female who is going on three. The adult female will sit there and let her do it. My husband and i stop it everytime we see it. But is there a reason for this. At first the adult was beating up the kitten, when i first got her then she stopped. Now is letting her nurse off of her. I got the kitten when she was six weeks old. So she was already weaned from her mother. How can i break this habit?
