A slightly easier solution is to get a spare fitted sheet and put it over the boxspring upside down... so the taut sheet is covering all her access holes to the inside of the boxspring. If she is determined, you will have to check to make sure she hasn't made another hole thru the sheet, but sheets are usually sturdier than the scrim that is on a boxspring.
