>>Ok, here's the dilly. Mi gato Theta is the strangest little kitty that I've ever met (and I worked in a vet clinic for 2 years). She suckles on my ears, brings me presents from the garage, takes various things from my room (jewelry, clothing, baby wipes, feminine products) and stowes them in various places around the house. One of the weirdest things was her daily routine of attacking the fixed buttons on the couch (I say routine because she would come out from breakfast and get right to the buttons).

>>

>>Lately, she's got me worried. Her newest thing has been chasing her tail. She doesn't seem to understand that it follows her around everywhere. It makes me wonder if she's seriously lacking upstairs. I don't believe in that wives' tail about worms, but, honestly...her tail?

Everything you've posted sounds like perfectly normal, active cat behavior. She brings you presents, reorganizes the house, invents new games to amuse you, etc... Of course, Theta hasn't done the "best" behavior yet--dragging your feminine products out to the middle of the table during your next dinner party.

Tail chasing is faily common. I have noticed it more in dogs than cats, but lots of cats do it too. For some cats, it's simply a fun game. I used to have a cat who'd do it until he exhausted himself, but only after dipping into the catnip. He'd never do it "sober." One of the cats who lives with me now chases his tail from time to time. Sometimes though, the tail outruns him and he can't seem to find it. Ooops.

Unless your cat hurts herself, don't worry about it. I would, however, periodically check the buttons on the couch. Make sure they're securely attached lest she actually removes one some day. You don't want her to choke on it.

Enjoy this cat. She sounds like a lot of fun.
