I have a five and a half month old tortie female. She is spayed, and was before I got her from the shelter three months ago. She and her 'brother' (he's actually unrelated, but came from the same shelter and is only two days younger than she), are on Nutro kitten food twice a day. They have the run of the house when I'm gone, and I play with them every evening with a laser pointer (for at least an hour, to wear them out before bedtime).



Oliver is doing wonderfully. He's a perfect weight, growing like a weed, and his coat is shiny and like silk. Min, however...she is growing like a weed...out, as well as up!! The last week or so I've especially noticed it...she's getting FAT! She has very little indentation any more where her waist is, and she is starting to get rolls when she lays or sits down. She carries all of it on her stomach, and has even developed the saggy 'kitten pouch' that most females and neutered males get after a year or so old. It looks very silly on her, being so young!



She does not eat all that much. Oliver scarfs down more than she does at each sitting. She's still growing, so I don't want to really switch her to an adult or diet food, because I know she needs the protein...but if she keeps gaining weight like this I worry about her health.



They get no treats or extra goodies. What they get in their dish is what they get for the day.



Any advice?
