>>If you are renting, the landlord may provide pest control - however, don't count on anything that is provided being safe for cats.

>>

>>Do you have a vaccuum? Even on linoleum it would be effective to vaccuum daily since the fleas are obviously hiding in minute cracks and seams. You will need to put an activated dog collar into the bag however, to kill any fleas emerging from unhatched eggs.

>>

>>If you can get someone to take your cats for 8 hours or so, flea bombs do wonders. Do check label directions to see if the residue is safe for pets or if you will need to clean afterwards before allowing the cats back into the house. My friend uses bombs for her flea problems and whatever she uses is safe for the dog to return to after 8 hours or so.

>>

>>Good luck! I hope someone else has some ideas!

>>>>Problem is we are on a tight income so it needs to be afordable. We have linolium floors. Oh please help thay are driving me crazy!

MA is so right on this. Many, many years ago, I, too have been in the 'no money situation' and know exactly what you are saying.....and so this is my advice.....

First, vacuum the whole house to get rid of all of the fleas.

Second, either take the vacuum cleaner bag out to the curb or get rid of it so that the fleas in the bag do NOT crawl out or invade your house again. An activated flea collar will help but lacking that...go to three. WHATEVER YOU DO, YOU DO NOT WANT THE FLEAS TO CRAWL OUT OF THE BAG AND INTO THE CARPET AGAIN.

To activate a flea collor, simply SNAP it and them put in a vacuum clearner bag. Snap it, ya know, hold it in your hands and SNAP. Then put it in your vacuum cleaner bag. Whatever you do, don't put on your pet. This could harm and even kill a cat. Especially Hartz Mountian.

Third....Shampoo all cats in Dawn dishwashing detergent. This will not harm cats and at the same time, will destroy the fleas.

And fourth...go to a vet or online and get Advantage or Revolution Plus. I have 4 cats and order the Revolution Plus online in the large dog size. It covers my 4 cats and even my grandchilren's dog.

How wonderful to do nothing and then rest afterwards. Meow!
