Sad to say, it sounds like a vet visit could really help your cat. I'm sorry your mother is so reluctant ot go.



The change in grooming habits also spells trouble. Any change in a cat's behavior is a red flag and should be investigated.



Good luck. Hopefully your mother will get the cat to the vet soon. Cats can live into their 20's if they are well-cared for!
