Butt muscles don't work!!! Please Help!

I have a 6 mo old male kitty that can't control his butt muscles. He does his major poop in the litter box but little pebbles of poop fall out of his bum all day. He is on medication that helped but he still does it. The vet said he is as good as he is going to get. I have him in the tiled bathroom so the messes are easier to clean up. I have small children and can't have poop all over. He is declawed so I don't think I could have him be outside. Does anyone know anything else I can try or will I have to give him back the the shelter???

Please Help!!! We love little Sammy!!
