I am so sorry about the kitten. I was pretty sure that the news would not be good. Very unusual for a kitten to act "depressed" unless he is really ill. I am glad that you took him to the Vet before getting him a friend. I know that you will miss him but at least he was loved and gave love for the short time that he had.
