I have to agree with Jaime. Let them meet. The dog doesn't sound like it plans on killing the kitten and the kitten may swat the dogs nose but trust me, my dog can tell you that no dog has ever died from that. Sounds to me that the dog is getting excited smelling a furry under the door and not being able to see it. Keep the dog on a leash when they meet so you can yank it back if it gets to excited.
