Just fill it with lots of hides or other cage furniture so that it feels smaller for your hatchling. There is no difference between the floor space of a 40 and 50, but a 40 is easier to heat. I would use a ceramic over tank heater for this type of set up or a under tank heater, not flexwatt. Flexwatt is OK when you have to heat lots of tubs (although heat rope is fast becoming a better alternative), but there is no reason to mess around with it to heat one tank. | ||
