Also keep in mind that infertile eggs can look 100% normal, if they don't have veins they are not fertile. I've seen eggs that you would think are PERFECT in size , shape, color, etc. but after a week or two you figure out that they never developed the vein network that is necessary to support life. If you don't candle them you may be in for a BIG surprise, a cheap pen light is all you need, check for veins in a dark room , this is something people "assume" is fine just because they are normal looking. I put any eggs aside that look questionable, don't throw any away until you know for sure it's bad, if it has no veins, and smells rotten then you know (often times they turn a yellow/green color) . Some eggs look bad but still hatch so wait until your sure it's dead before you pitch it. As for slugs, throw them away you can't do much for them! Anthony McCain-McCain's Reptiles.
