Hello:
Plated Lizards are great pets and are relatively easy to keep. Some can live well over 10 years with no problem, a few going as high as the early twenties in age.
They are not very demanding in their cage requirements but the should be kept in a tank that has more length than height. These lizards are savannah animals that commonly frequent rock out croppings and old tree debris. They like to have a place to hide and a good flat rock to bask on. If you use climbing branches make sure they are thick.
Their food is a simple matter because they eat insects, pink mice, and veggies and fruits. I usually give them vitamins in their veggies.
Some of them are nervous but many plateds tame down quickly.
All-in-all I think they are a great lizard that many people overlook.
I hope this info helps.
Good Luck and Have A Great Day!!!
