30th aniversary for GCHS in Sept?

If my memory is correct (and I grow more supicious of it with each passing year lol) I believe GCHS was started in Sept of 1977. On September 5th of that year was a gathering (21 in attendance) at the old museum of natural history to discuss its development. A steering committee was formed to draft a constitution and by-laws which were then passed at the October meeting (first Wednesday) Elections for officers were held the following month in November of that year if memory serves.

Party in the fall anyone?
