I recently acquired what appears to be a rat snake of some sort. I have been a keeper for several years now, but I'm not sure what this little gal is. At first I thought it to be a yellow rat snake, but the coloration is way off, especially when I compared it to older pics of a wild caught yellow rat that I caught in the summer of 2007.
From many pictures I have found on the web, it does resemble a black rat hatchling.
I have no way of knowing for certain, but I think it may actually be a black x yellow interbreed.
It was caught in the Gainsville,Florida area nesting in a pile of mulch.
Any help or guesses are appreciated. I will try to attach pics, but this is my first time posting here.

Thanks again.
