Hi, everybody. I wish that the subject of this post was something different than it looks like, but it isn't. I went out to feed my three sulcatas (Raptor, Parry, and Jolie) on January 13, and when I tossed in the scraps (it's winter here--no grass available), they didn't move. I first thought they might be asleep, so I tried to rouse them--no response. Then I thought they must be too cold again (they locked themselves out of their house 4 years ago, in February, right before a snowstorm--almost died then, but we thawed them successfully), so I tried the same methods of warming them up that worked so well 4 years ago--nothing. The only thing that was out of order in their house was one of the windows that had fallen open. We had an oil-filled space heater in their house (surrounded by cinder blocks so they couldn't burn themselves) and it was working--the temp in there was 72 degrees (a little cool, but certainly not enough to kill them). Needless to say, no attempt to rouse or thaw them worked. They are dead. I spent the following day digging a hole in their pen (where they had lived happily for the past 7 years), and buried them in it. We had them for almost 10 years, and I will never know what happened to them, but I know that there will always be a hole in my heart that used to be filled by a 75 pound lug (Raptor), a 55 pound dimwit (Parry), and a 15 pound beauty (Jolie).
