I just wanted to thank Chris and Bryan for their help, it was greatly appreciated.

I went and checked all the local shops and could not find the camera or lens that I was looking for. All the stores around here are Nikon and Canon dealers.

I went with Chris's suggestion and ordered the Sony A700 and the Sigma 17-70 lens. They should be here Tuesday.
