Hello everyone,

I've had my young sulcata that is about 4" , for just over a week now..

He seems to sleep an awful lots.. and does not use his hide at all..

he just sits under the basking lamp, or 1/2 in 1/2 out most of the time sleeping..

he'll wake up for 20 min at a time, maybe 2 - 3 times a day.. roams around, eats some.. then back to sleep.

he's more active if i take him out and give him a soak.. but immediately after putting him back in his enclosure.. its back to sleep after 2 - 3 steps.

He does get up and forages for food.. either eating some timothyhay thats part of his substrate.. or finding his food dish and eating the grass / veggie mixture ive left out for him..

but I'm concerned that he doesnt burrow, doesnt use his hide.. he's asleep right now ( its 2am here ) and he's sleeping in his basking spot??..

usually on a pile of hay 1/2 off his basking spot around 85 - 86 degrees. , but tonight he's on his rocks at 92 degrees.

Humidity is 28% in basking spot, 38% in most of the enclosure , and 51% in his hide... which si just a plastic utility bin upside down.. roomy enough for him, a little more hay piled up in there incase he wanted to make a bed .. but he hasnt been in it once since i got him.

he' sleeps all day, all night.

But still eating. and I soak him every other day / mist his enclosure 2x a day.

just hope he's ok. I want him to be active.

I have a 10.0UVB flourecent in one end, along with his red heat lamp... , and a 5.0 uvb flourecent in the middle of his enclosure .

any suggestions what i can do to liven him up?

aside from his sleepiness , ( even if we take him out on the table , he'll eat for a long while.. then fall asleep on the table soon as he's done )

and his lack of using his hide to sleep in and prefering his basking area.. i dont see any runny nose, no wheezing , no bubbles.. his poops in good shape as best i can tell...

plz offer your opinions?
