mice are easy to breed as feeders. Basically buying young mice, two females and one male and house them together in an appropriate setup. For best results feed a quality lab rodent diet designed for breeding (high fat and protein).



For bedding for the mice, use kiln dried pine or aspen, carefresh or similar non toxic beddings for rodents (note that cedar is toxic to rodents)



There are many places to buy frozen mice and rats (as well as rabbits and other feeder rodents)which could be used instead of live prey (just thaw and warm.)



I am no ferret expert, so not sure if they are eager to eat 'dead' prey as snakes (most snakes will take frozen thawed rodents will little to no hesitation, often presented on long tongs).

I hope these links are beneficial to you. I know I could have just given you details on how to breed mice from my own experience, but I felt just mice for ferrets was limiting. Most people I know who own ferrets feed them either a prepared ferret food or frozen thawed, but again I am no expert on ferrets and the best diets for them.
