I've been pondering this issue myself lately. I know it can be done in the area I live in with Australian species, since I live fairly close to Agama international. They breed Australian water dragons and beardies with great success. However, close to all of us have NG frilleds, so I don't know how well that'd work. How big is the climate difference between New Guinea and Australia?
I asked Bert once about keeping frilleds outside. He said he did at one time, but found them boring. But once again, they were most likely Australian....
