Karl,
I know that some boids will ovulate and release ova from one ovary at a time separated by several days. I have not seen this with any of the ovulating females I have had however. They do always act as you describe when ovulating, and have a very straight and rigid posture for a day or two. I have noticed some slight swelling before and after ovulation, but never is it associated with the straight and rigid posture that is characteristic of ovulation in greens.
