It's very similar to the breeding cycling for other large constrictors. Reduced photoperiod and temps. As far as female behavior toward the male, I have never seen anything to cause concern, and I don't believe Jud has either. The worst I have seen was a female that would push the male away with her body coils rather hard when he attempted courtship, but that is about as far as it went.
