I have no experience with prolapse issues. My opinion is this is probably why this pair was available for sale. Why would someone sell a "proven breeding" pair of ackies versus keeping then, breeding them, and selling babies? These guys were probably, in my opinion, available because of these health concerns. Also if they were kept in crap conditions like you say, its hard to believe they were consistently producing eggs.
Personally, I think its best to start with babies and raise them up yourself. But my experience is limited. I started out with one baby ackie, then got two more babies a month after. I just got a second clutch of eggs from them on saturday. Besides the ackies, I have an argus, a baby peach throat, a juvie peach throat, and a mangrove. So I'm still pretty new to keeping and breeding monitors.
