The Reptile and Amphibian Society of Pittsburgh (RASP), will be having a meeting Wednesday, June 27 at 7pm at Boyce Park, near Monroeville, PA.
Rain or shine. The pavilion 'Pack' is reserved (follow signs to the soccer fields - it's past that, on the right). There's trails through the woods and a stream nearby for some field herping. The pavilion is handicapped accessible and a portajohn is nearby.
Monday I will receive confirmation of whether pet reptiles are permitted in the park (it's not specifically addressed in their 'pet policy'). BYO drinks, snacks or bring some to share. Pitching in a few bucks to help cover the $30 pavilion rental fee would be most appreciated.
A second supplemental meeting is planned for July 3 in the Washington, PA area (location tbd), to accommodate a speaker (& Waynesburg, PA native)- Mark Pyle, the Education Director of the Dallas Fort Worth Herpetological Society, with his talk "Herping Across Texas in 2012"
Please spread the word, and I hope to see some of you there!
