Yeah, Rainer's pointing you in the right direction. In July think higher altitudes. The San Gabes are good, San Jacintos, maybe even the Sierras. Depending on what you're looking for I'd even try some coastal areas. I live in Chatsworth, CA and July is when alot of the popular lower elevation spots slow down. I have, however, heard of a couple of people having good boa nights near Barstow. Happy herping.
