The word intergrade is not used in herpetology like you use it. It refers to past intergrading or blending, not current. Your kings in SE AZ that display so many patterns are nothing more than animals expressing the collision of genes from 3 different parent patterns (subspecies) which all collided in that area a long time ago. That's what is REALLY happening. You can call it what you want, and use your own made-up terminology, but it is just a large intergrade zone.
