Not every intermediate is an intergrade, but every intermediate in an "intergrade zone" is an intergrade. Aberrant cal kings in San Diego county are not intergrades, because they are not the result of two subspecies meeting historically, just two morphs or color patterns meeting historically. You really have some far out confused ideas. Perhaps too much breeding is the result and not enough sampling of wild populations across their ranges. Or, maybe too much ego...
