By and large, they are the same animal, so it cannot be a mongrel or mutt or whatever folks call them. There are areas, where splendida, are splendida, for the most part, in the eastern part of their range. But out here in the western part of their range, they are the same as MBK's found in the same places, and out of the same clutches. There there is phenotypically the whole range from pure black to pure splendida in the exact same areas(many areas)
