I have 18 cats and they all live inside. Primarily because I am a worry wort and want to know that my babies are safe. Not being chased by mean kids or vicious dogs or hit by cars. Cats live longer living inside. But the reality is that many people allow their cats to come and go as they please and even if everyone that owned cats kept them in, there would still be strays and ferals that had to kill birds and rabbits to survive. I am sorry about your baby ducks and the people should have been more sympathetic.
