Tammy,
I have been washing Crash's bowls every day.
**************************************

Ditto. I had 4 plastic bowls for Romes when he was an only cat. (Currently I'm down to about a dozen cermic for 3 cats after breakage. I cleaned Target out when they went on clearance) With Romeo's delicate health, lack of time wasn't an excuse to give him a dirty bowl, so I made it easy on myself. They still got acne.

There is talk in Europe of phasing out certain types of plastic for home use since they release a chemical that builds up in our blood stream. Could feline acne be caused by trace chemicals released from their bowls? Who knows? But I'm surprised at how common acne seems to be even in our little group.
