Do not allow this cat to come into contact with your kitten for at least a month. They need to be separated. Then you can put the kitten in a carrier for a bit each day and let the other cat sniff around it - then reverse the proceedure.

In the meantime, talk to your vet about antianxiety meds for the vicious cat. Normally it would be best not to go this route, but since the kitten's life may be in danger you'll need to consider this option. After the cat has learned that the kitten isn't going to harm him, and also learns to be calm around the kitten with the help of the drugs, you can try some supervised visits increasing the length of time the cats come into contact with each other.

I would not let them be together unsupervised for a long time, perhaps as much as three months.
