From your post, I see that the vicious cat is a male. Is he neutered? Unneutered male cats can and will kill kittens to bring the mother into heat again. They might even kill them, period, but I don't know for sure. If he's not neutered, I'd take him in and get him fixed. What are the sexes of your other two cats?
