Found a solution to the window blinds issue, at least for now. Discovered that I had some pennies and put them in an empty soda can, putting a piece of duct tape over the opening so they don't spill out. I then sat that on the window sill in front of the blinds so that if they pull the blinds, it knocks the can off, making a loud crash, which they know means that they are in trouble. After a couple times, they haven't knocked the can off. It's been moved some, but they've stopped before knocking it off.
