What you are describing sounds like Merkey needs to see a vet very soon. She's got something going on which needs medical intervention ASAP. There is really nothing you can do to help her at this point.

Your vet may not need to sedate her to determine the problem. But even if s/he does this doesn't mean that it's totally bad. Although Merkey didn't look happy during her spaying last year, you can't equate this with a major problem with anesthesia. Spaying involves so many issues ranging from being displaced from the normal home to pain that looking unhappy is normal. If she did not have a medical reaction then it is safe to assume that she will tolerate being put under OK, although she won't be happy for a while afterwards.

Please do whatever Merkey needs to get back to normal. Although she may suffer from some discomfort from the initial vet exam, in the long run she will be a lot happier and may even have a longer life.
