Me neither, I have heard of them maybe missing part of whatever is taken out for the spay, and having to go back in after the cat goes into heat following spay, but never something like this. I would look for a second opinion, ideally at a clinic who specializes in cats, or a university vet school...both should have more up to date ideas and treatments, and could offer insight. As for the vets reasoning, I can't say it is impossible, but there needs to be something done about this, and if he doesn't have an answer, then you should find someone who does. Also, I am curious if you had to pay for the second spaying of her...
