Pookey turned 18 today! It is a best guess as when I got Stanley and Pookey from the SPCA 17 years ago today, they and a vet that checked them out both told me they were "one year old".

He's napping now, saving up for the big event later (treats).

He's doing remarkably well. All his blood/urine numbers were pretty much in the "normal" range at his last vet checkup.

Very bright eyed, sassy, and playful for his age! His only problem of late is arthritis in his lower back due to losing his right rear leg when he was 12 (rabies shot induced cancer).

So, he has me very well trained. Meows and I lift him on the bed. He does it himself when I am not home, but when I am home, he sits and meows for me... Tried pet stairs very recently and he scoffed at them. Wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole...
