I have a 2 1/2 yr old cat that I had to take to an emergency vet at midnight last night for vomiting. He had been sleeping a lot and throwing up his food once a day for a few days. Then last night he started vomiting a clear liquid.
At that point I took him to the vet. The vet found by x-ray that my cat was very constipated. This could have been due to his eating the kitten's food rather than his own. Also, he had accidentally been locked in a room for a few hours a couple days ago and possibly was "holding it" and became backed up.
The vet gave him an enema and sent us home w/lactulose.
It is now about 12 hours later and my cat is still not feeling well and keeps trying to vomit, though nothing is coming out. Is it normal for him to feel nauseaus for awhile? Should I take him back in right away? Or is there something I can give him to help the nausea?
