Housing a Juvenile L. g. floridana

Greetings! I recently decided to get a Florida King, and assumed that here in Europe, it would be easy to find a sub-adult of the morph I wanted. It was not... I made a furniture grade 43" X 20" X 20" terrarium with all the bells and whistles, for the occupant. Looks like I will have to wait until September/October for a hatchling of my liking.

Can I use this terrarium for the juvenile, or is it best to get a sweater box, and use a heating pad hooked up with a thermostat until the snake is at least a year old? As an option, I could place sweater box inside the large terrarium or even place a seater box in the hot side and one in the cold side, and intercommunicate them with a PVC pipe, so the snake can choose where he wants to be.

If I do use the large terrarium, would it best to use white paper towels so it can't burrow and "disappear" for days at a time with my favored aspen substrate?
