Hey,
Yeah, I love them. They're freaking fast, since they hatched they were burning rubber. I've never tried any of those food items really. All I feed mine are gut loaded, calcium and vitamin coated crickets, and the occasional spider or pinkie. I have a reverse trio. The males get along perfectly and have for the three or so years that I've had them. I keep them in a 3'D x 2'T x 2'W melamine cage with oak front and glass door. The substrate I use is cypress mulch mixed with peat moss. I have rocks and a large branch for them to climb on. They spend most of their time burrowed under the substrate. I also keep a small rubbermaid shed/next box in with them. It is filled with a 50/50 peat moss/sand mixture and is kept slightly moist. For breeding, I cooled them last year from August to October. Allowing them approximately a year and a half to acclimate. They were taken out of their normal cage and kept separately for cooling. I placed them in simple rubbermaid containers only containing the cypress mulch/peat moss mix and a bowl of water. I placed them on my concrete floor in my basement (which is where I keep everything) for the duration of the cooling period. They went in and came out perfectly. I placed the males in the original cage a week before I put the female in. After I put the female in, I could tell already that she was being bred, by bite marks around her neck. She got heavy and fat a few months later, and when she suddenly became skinny, I checked the nest/shed box. She had laid two very large, perfect, white eggs. I incubated them at about 84-86 because the incubator doesn't keep a very constant temperature. Thanks for sharing your information 7serpents. Just out of curiosity what do you keep now? What's your name and where do you live? On my website in the about us category there is a link that says what I currently keep in my collection. Thanks
