I have bred them several times.
A short summary: Cycling is not necessary and does not help. Their inner clock works well.
If setup and feeding is OK, breeding will occur between December and february. A single clutch of 2-5 surprisingly big eggs will be laid in February/march.
Under standard incubation conditions large Babies (approx 5" will hatch after 120-160 days. Eggs need initially high humidity but die if they are not allowed to adpt to dryer conditions during incubation.
Females guard nesting place.
Sexing in this Gerrhosaurus species is easy: Males have much more pronounced femoral pores and only males have red or yellow scales in the lip/throat area.
BTW this species is very often mixed up with G. nigrolineatus in the pet trade.

Hope that helps

Ingo
