Most States have laws against releasing animals into the wild, even if they were wild caught. If they were caught locally, relatively recently, it is probably not a problem. If you have caught several you might be over possession laws as well. I would definitely return them to the wild if you can, especially at the beginning of breeding season. If your laws allow, and you want, keep only 1 as a pet. Preferably keep a male if you want a wild caught pet. You do not want to breed a local species anyway as most States forbid commercial activity of species found within the State.
