Scott,

Good luck with the new addition. It's tough enough to find G. validus for sale , hopefully you do have a 1.1 pair. Maybe you'll get lucky and see some mating behavior and possibly even eggs. I'd keep a suitable nesting spot available just in case. With my Plateds, I've always provided a shallow plant pot saucer , filled almost to the top with either peat or Bed-a-Beast kept moistened. The advantage to the saucer is that you can position it underneath a rock overhang or similar protected area in the cage and the if you see eggs have been laid you can remove the saucer to recover the eggs without disturbing their orientation.
